Biography

 
Afshin Banazadeh is an associate professor in the faculty of Aerospace Engineering at Sharif University of Technology (SUT), where he has taught and researched since 2008. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, a Master’s degree and a Doctorate in Aerospace Engineering, Dr. Banazadeh has served as academic advisor to several Masters and Doctoral students and is frequently called upon to testify as an expert in his field. He has published over 50 refereed papers in high ranking journals and conferences and has received awards for research excellence from SUT. He is a senior member of AIAA and a member of ISIRI/TC20 Technical Committee. His current research interests are system identification, uncertainty-based design optimization, nonlinear stability analysis, data-driven control systems, and electric aircraft design. He also consults for various companies in the area of modeling, simulation, and design as well as technology demonstration activities.
