The positions will be available at assistant professorship within the department of Aerospace Engineering (AE) at Sharif University of technology (SUT), https://en.sharif.edu. Higher rank requests from renowned international universities will also be considered. The successful candidates will join one of prestigious and growing aerospace departments in the country that is internationally recognized for its research and authentic teaching capabilities.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can bring their research or pertinent industrial experience to teach students in the area of Aircraft Design and Systems Engineering as one the important interlinked multidisciplinary and attractive fields of AE. The candidates are expected to teach and perform research focused on the following areas:
- Aircraft design and system engineering,
- Capstone courses such as air vehicle design,
- Principles of project design & management,
- Computer aided design for AE students,
- Flight Performance, Flight Dynamics and Stability and Control
- Flight Safety, Testing and Airworthiness Standards
- Aerospace Design Laboratory
Particular requirements are:
- Completed doctoral or PhD studies in a field related to aircraft design and system engineering from a reputable university,
- Excellent knowledge in the field of aircraft design and systems engineering,
- Excellent knowledge in design and layout of manned and/or unmanned fixed wing aircraft (AC) and familiarity with emerging concepts such as electric propulsion and green AC. Knowledge in VTOL configurations, Distributed Electric Propulsion (DEP) concepts, and hybrid systems design is considered as an advantage,
- Working Knowledge over regulatory requirements such as Certification Processes and flight testing procedures,
- Experience in cooperation with research institutions and industries in the national as well as international level, specifically in private sectors is highly appreciated,
- Experience in completion and management of research projects,
- Relevant publications in internationally recognized scientific journals,
- High level of familiarity and skill with design and CAD related software such as CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, ADAMS, etc.
- Potential teaching experience in design related courses
